I was planning on giving you a copy of the first Twilight book this Christmas. I suppose I have to rethink that one now...

Hunger games is proper proper shite, I really don't get how anyone is actually enjoying it beyond its audience of teenage children. Even then, fuck, watch battle royale or something - at least it realises the premise doesnt hold up to much scrutiny so just gets straight into the action. You've gotta put up with an hour of cheesy world building in the first two before anyone starts dying and then it's all off screen anyway.

If Jena Malone was more naked for longer in the second it might have maintained some interest.

Battle Royale is great.

HG is the shittest. I do like Woody Harrelson in bad boy roles mind you.

Twilight. lol. anyone see that laura o'brien bird do 7 actresses while in her car, sfucking excellent. and she's hot.

Was having this chat with my friend the other day who'd just watched the first hunger games and was as disbelieving as me as to why it was remotely successful.

Battle Royale is just so brilliantly brutal but also has much more of a heart to it, with the background and motivations of most of the students rendering them characters with actual depth rather than the caricatures in the hunger games where everyone can be neatly divided into one of two categories: 'unquestionably helping catniss' or 'cartoonish villain'. Woody is one of the few redeeming features.

The only redeeming feature.

do you really find it so hard to believe that so many people are so.. well.. stupid? Your analysis of the film is right on! But your analysis of the general population is shoddy, to say the least :p

The target audience, though, is clearly teenagers. To attack the simplicity of its plot and character development -- and to compare it to Battle Royale -- is probably a little harsh. For what it is, I'd say it's not a bad series (better than twilight). And I thought Hoffman was watchable (in the second one, anyway; I haven't seen the new one).

Unfortunately for Hunger Games, that's (^^^) all the defence I can provide.

just think how dumb the average person is, then realise that half the population is actually thicker.

Jennifer Lawrence? Although the amount of pictures of her tits + pussy on the Internet renders watching the film mostly pointless I suppose
