Carrrrrrrrrrdiff as the Welsh pronouce it, is a cool city. Quite Cosmo and a good night out. Its as rough as any of the big city's, just have to be a little careful of the area.

Avoid Splot whatever you do......

Yes and no. Cardiff lies on the River Taff, which makes them Taffies (told to me years ago by a Welshman). However, us superior Englishmen refer to all Welshies under this moniker.

They are nice people shimmer, they think the English hate them and that the English think they live in Caves/Mines.

Its a historical nonsense that Welsh dont like the English and vice versa.

I lived in Newport for a couple of years and got on fine with the locals.

Not quite true. Go to proper Wales, ie. the middle to the West Coast, and you will find that they can't stand the English. At the sign of english, they start speaking Welsh, unless you are foreign.

I get on well with my grandma. So that proves Frank is wrong.

I've been to Cardiff to watch the Ice Hockey there, and sat among the Cardiff fans. They're really cool people, didn't have a problem. They give it the old "English English give us a wave" and we had some banter, but nothing major like described above!

The thing is Shimmer; lots of English/British are quite Xenophobic, even within the British Isles. This is generally based in similar ways to dislike of other Football teams fans, no real logic to it, just because of the unknown and historical reasons. Most have never been or lived in other countries either to form opinions.

Its like anything though, there are nice people and not nice people everywhere, in every country, area, town.

She's from Cardiff, innit? The Welsh from the centre are funny sods. Sons of Glyndwr???!!?!?!

You're part Welsh then! That explains a lot.
