I am listening to Midnight Juggernauts. Recommended by Benny ages ago. I downloaded it and never listened. I am underwhelmed. Cheers, "mate"

He fucked me over with that lot too...

They're alright I spose. Is there any particular setting which would enhance my listening pleasure with this lot? Or just a shitload of drugs?

Well, that would obviously help.

Incidentally I've been given half a dozen tickets for the Phoenix gig tonight off Benny's brother - he'd salvaged them from his flat. There's a load of us going, if anyone fanices having one of these tickets text or pm me. It'd be nice for them to get used.

i thought the lyrics fit with his leaving. the song is also quite nice i believe

You walked away in silence
You walked away to breathe
Stopped and turned around to say goodbye to me
I'm pleading as your leaving I'm begging you stay
I'm not the man I used to be, I've changed
I'm not the man I used to be, I've changed

Don't give up on us, don't give up on love
Don't give up on us, don't give up on love
If my life is the price, then my life it will cost
Now that I'm picking up the pieces see the pain that I have caused
It's hard to believe in someone you thought was lost
Don't give up on us, don't give up on love
Don't you walk away in silence...

In tears you counted reasons
Tears covered you it seemed
Face down screaming "God help me please"
I'm pleading as your leaving; I'm begging you to stay
I'm not the man I used to be, I've changed
I'm not the man I used to be, I've changed

Don't give up on us, don't give up on love
Don't give up on us, don't give up on love
If my life is the price, then my life it will cost
It will cost my life
Now that I'm picking up the pieces see the pain that I have caused
It's hard to believe in someone you thought was lost
Don't give up on us, don't give up on love
Don't you walk away in silence
Please come back to me
Don't you walk away in silence
I'm not the man I used to be!

Well I pray that tomorrow you'll be home
We can rebuild and forever we can go on
Go on, and go on
We can go on, well I pray that tomorrow you'll be home
Look at horizons and let the light bring you home, bring you home

Don't give up on us, don't give up on love
Don't give up on us, don't give up on love
If my life is the price, then my life it will cost
Now that I'm picking up the pieces see the pain that I have caused
It's hard to believe in someone you thought was lost
Don't give up on us, don't give up on love
Don't walk away in silence
Please don't walk away
Don't you walk away in silence
I'm not the man I used to be!

I turned to H3T after Johnsons goal last night and said "Skol for Benny that one".

He had no idea what skol was. Neither did I.

We accepted it and moved on.

I've just read through this whole thread and am so, so sad.

I stayed at Benny's house a few times - once after the infamous Bro-In-Law incident for the Copenhagen match - and he was an amazing man. I've had a tough 18 months and every time I logged on he'd PM me to see how things were, and make sure I was ok.

I never knew the darker side of Benny's character - he was always smiles and laughs, gay jokes, forum, manchester city and poker, JD and 'little extras'.

I wish I had met him more - every time you met him, he added and never subtracted from your experiences.

For such a clever man, he did such a stupid thing, and a bit of me is very angry at him just now. I imagine he must have thought long and hard about making his decision, and so I know he'll think it was a right thing to do.

I hope wherever he is now he's ok.

Weege.

Lovely post. You obviously didn't know him too well but understood him plenty.

Benny to a T. He was grooming you though you do know that?

What I would love to see is when Michael Johnson scores his next goal he lifts the front of his shirt over his head to reveal a t-shirt underneath with the word SKOL written across it.
