I was thinking about this last night. I have asked BM to bump his post count up to a million. I think that Benny should always remain top poster and I have no wish to ever change that.

Think of someone wrote an email or letter we could get all the forum members who to, to sign it and give it to his family?

Good plan. I was thinking what a sad day it would be when someone else's name appeared there, but I didn't get round to thinking of a solution.

I'm not entirely sure what to say as I'd never met Benny but it's plain to see how loved he is on here and what a great guy he was. His posts on here made me smile and made me laugh and it was only last week he joked about me being forummer of the year, and that did make me BOAC.

I only had the good fortune of meeting Benny once and that was before the Hamburg game. My first ever forum meet and he had given me his mobile number so I had a point of contact. A trusting man to have given his number to a trained assassin like myself, his warmth, good humour and friendliness ensured that I had the best pre match drinks session ever as he introduced me to some of the more colourful forum members. Benny even invited me to stay over at his house unfortunateley I had to decline as I had the whole family in tow. I have been at the end of his sharp humourous ripostes on this forum and feel a great loss for the big man. My condolences go to his family and close friends.
Rest in peace Benny.

One thing Benny said on here recently was that an opportunity to meet people and make friends was always a good thing.

He was a good, genuine and generous lad. It is upsetting to think that he was in so much pain but those that knew him can take comfort that they made his life that little bit better.

This forum will not be the same.

I never met Benny either, the only thing i can say is that he usually replied to any posts or threads that i had made, as he did with other occasional posters like myself.
I hope he is now at peace with himself.

We should have a giant meetup in his honour one time.
Everyone in the area, come have a drink (or whatever suits) to celebrate his memory.

I'm trying my bloody hardest to catch a game in february when i'll be in Europe, but that's a fair few months away. Even as you said, maybe just all raise a toast at the same time.

Sunday. At the exact moment of kick-off perhaps. A toast to Benny.

I'll be in work. But I'll be thinking of him, without a doubt.
