We are currently spanking the Windies. 197-2, with Strauss out on 52 and Bopara out on 49. Prior has 51 while Shah has 33. Apparently the Windies bowling is wound

I thought it was a northern word I wasn't familiar with. I have no idea what Gibbi means here.

Are we shaping up quite nicely for the ashes?

I don't really follow cricket but seems we are starting to play quite well. Are the Windies just a poor side this time round?

From what I can tell the Australian side is relatively young/ inexperienced

Australian side is young but we've still some hope.

W.Indies are not a good side BTW, you are right, really bloody bad actually. England look to be finding form at the right time though, you lack some bowlers but you've plenty of batting power.

The arrival of cricket depresses me even more than the departure of football.

I'm guessing it was a play on Windies / wind / wound...

I'm relying heavily on the Ashes providing my sporting entertainment this summer. Reckon both sides are pretty evenly matched so should be a cracker.

Didnt WI spank England over there?

Cricket is so favoured to the home team. Only Australia and South Africa are good enough to win on their travels. And Australia look a bit poo at the mo. Still expect them to win though.

Look pooh..... But aren't. Despite injuries.... They did most recently win a series IN South Africa.

I dont watch cricket that much any more so not so up to date.

will be nice to not have hayden, gilchrist, mcgrath and warne lining up though, no matter how good their replacements are.

Is that twat wicket keeper still playing for oz? his name escapes me. I remember being constantly annoyed last time the ashes were over here with "Nice one Shane!" every bloody ball he bowled:mad:

Adam Gilchrist

Greatest Wicket Keeper/ batsman of all time.

O' and no, he retired. Still smashing them in the IPL though.

He was bloody brilliant. Him and Hayden, what an opening partnership. Their bats weighed more than the average English cricketer!

That's what we want you to think ;)

Stuart Clarke missed both test series against South Africa is in the squad.
22 tests, 90 wickets, 22.96 bowling average. They are McGrath like figures.

Phillip Hughes 20 year old Batsman. Played 3 tests in S/A and averaged 69. First Class average of 69 in First Class.
574 runs from five first-class innings with Middlesex recently.

Just two names to look out for.

In my opinion, the only problem for Australia will be the fucking weather. Certain wins turn into draws very quickly.

Does Clarke have a Mcgrath like mullet as well as bowling figures?
