He is a maybe the biggest blow monkey cricket player ever. Preston NE fan when he wants to be, City when it suits him next. Also, day before a test match, so drunk he fell out of a pedallo at 2am in the morning? What a professional. Wanker.

Ok - from an unbiased Aussie's perspective. I have to admit even though we lost the ashes last time around in the UK it was entertaining to watch - some of the best cricket I have seen.

The thing that beat us was quality swing bowling. You had Jones, Flintoff and Hoggard moving the ball sideways and we cannot play against quality swing bowling. It appears to be a dying art and the pitches thatget produced these days (in particular in Australia) aren't conducive to it.

We have a good squad however our achillies heel will be lack of a genuine spin threat. There is no Shane Warne this time around and I really don't think you will be too nervous about Nathan Hauritz.

There are also question marks over the fitness of Brett Lee and Stuart Clark. Neither has played a lot of first class cricket over the last 12 months and a lot will rest on the shoulders of Mitchell Johnson who has really developed over this period.

Players to look for:

Mitchell Johnson - developing into a genuine all rounder
Phillip Highes - A young opening batsman who scored 4 centuries on the trot in County Cricket
Peter Siddle - a hard working fast bowler who can get the ball to move back in off the seam.

Nothing like an Ashes battle to stoke the interests of cricket again.

IN respects to broad..
Its not in the spirit of the game sure, but im sure he had a quick word with bell, and stayed at the crease..
If the aussie players had used their reviews a little more sensibly they would have been sweet..
They never kicked up a big fuss and they would have done the same thing..

Not sporting, not cricket, but in the same situation most of us would have done the same thing if being honest..

Bell has just got his ton, i think bat to tea, maybe declare and then get into the aussies, and have this won today.. :D

Michael Holding didn't mince his words:

Nasser Hussain: What can Australia do to turn the tide?
MH: Wait a couple of years and hope some better players come through.

Which I'm sure they will but a tough time for Australian cricket at the moment. Of the current squad maybe Clarke and Haddin would get anywhere near an Aussie squad of a few years ago (although Haddin wouldn't if Gilchrist was about, what a player he was btw).

4 or 5 of the Australia team I hadn't heard of until this series.

Absolutely true. England are tones better right now, every department. What an abomination from Aus perspective. Our team has zero confidence, perhaps in the negatives, and we are very short on quality personnel. Our pace attack is decent tbf but our batsmen are nowhere. We are so poor, and none of the names that float in and out of our batting order have confirmed their place. Woeful. I woke up to see the score and then went to the gym, was watching a music vid this morning in gym of that Duffy bird, in it her boobs were spectac, and now I have goggled and I find nothing unsheathed. And in fact they look very ordinary. Its been a horror start to my Monday on back of these findings.

you still would...

even your new bright spark ashton agar had a shocker..
i feel sorry for clarke as he is a decent player and a decent captain, but with a bunch of zero confidence players who are average at your high standards..
why they didn't ask pontingto come and have a knock i don't know..
scored a ton 80 odd last week...
he can still do it, and in the short term may have just give a bit of hope to the others instead of not even putting a fight up..
