It's not that exciting is it? I am not in to it at all. I remember I used to follow it with interest but I will nae bother. A few things to ponder; - How did Brazil get a WC and an L'Olympics with in the same 12 months? - How can Russia still compete at anything? - Or the Chinese? - Or ANY bike rider? Despite Cloudy (remember him?) staking that all Brit cyclists are clean. They're not. They're all dirty and just have better cloaking agents/pharmacists. - Whatever happened to only amateurs? Why are fucking Andy Murray et al playing at the L'Ols? What next, Floyd Mayweather competing? - Skateboard and surfing now approved...what in the fuck?! No wrestling...wrestling an original Greek Olympic sport now NOT included yet BMX, skateboarding and surfing is. Uh? And for the record I love skateboarding, surf and bmx...but they're not olympic sports. |

Caught it in bits yesterday, football is on tonight so will watch that Seen some cyclist in a ditch and some poor sod snapped his leg. |

I agree with Danny. It used to bea highlight every 4 years but part of the trouble is that when I was younger there was not as much sport so instantly available. I remember listening to every major event on the wireless sometimes in the middle of the night (Melbourne Olympics 1956?) No one had Tv so if there was a major event like the FA cup final you had to find a house with a TV and all the men and boys in the street crammed in to watch. Danny's point about the sports in the Olympics is good. It was originally only men's sports so wrestling was an integral part of the original Greek games and the the revived games in 1896. As to why Brazil have the WC and the next Olympics has nothing at all to do with politics FIFA or Coca Cola . |
