They were talking before about his famous interviews with parky. They were brilliant. And that left from our Henry. If only. But he spoke of Henry Cooper with great esteem and respect. That bum Berbick was never in ali's league. To be his last loss. I was 16 I think when tyson obliterated him. I grew up with the legend of ali. From my grandad and dad. Totally agree with Dan and Bert here. A one and only deal. Anything else is just imitation. What a year already for losing legends. |

I wonder whether any one person will have such an impact on the whole world again in our lifetimes. I really can't imagine anyone getting close. Especially a sports star. In my primary school in about 1982 we had a book about him, for kids (obvs). it was fucking jaw dropping stuff, even at that age. The Olympics, the battle with racism, throwing his gold medal in a river, the Vietnam thing, and all the fights that followed. I read it over and over. What a fucking life he led.

I would say only Michael Jackson was as famous. But MJ wasn't political at all, whereas Ali was. |

Watched a doc not long ago about Ali and Frazier and apparently in later years Ali came to regret some of the trolling he did (particularly the gorilla stuff), and tried to apologise to him. That little bit of humility only adds to how great he was. |

laid to rest yesterday, some ....err people, i have no words bad enough to describe them, were reselling tickets for his funeral...that were free.. rip ali.. |
