Bernard Hopkins comes out and admits he is an alien and not from this planet.

Bernard Hopkins, who at 48 is the oldest world champion in boxing history, has bizarrely claimed to be an ALIEN.

The American won the IBF light-heavyweight title when he defeated Tavoris Cloud in March and makes the first defence of his belt against Karo Murat on July 13 in New York.

And Hopkins insists his longevity is down to him originating from Mars: 'I just found out a month ago, the doctor will be here before the [fight week] press conference hopefully to explain this, but I must confess that I am not human,’ he said.

Hopkins, who is a target for British fighters Carl Froch and Nathan Cleverly, insisted he will not underestimate the Germany-based Armenian Murat.

‘When Murat’s name came up and it was agreed upon, I was like “let’s do this”,’ he added. ‘I see bigger things in my future believe it or not and he’s in the way of that.

‘I feel like I’m in my mid to early 30’s instead of my 40’s.

Ward is a bit special..but kessler, well that was a close fight last time out, but i think froch is a better all round fighter now.. mate...hitman next week...thats going to be, i dunno weird and interesting all at the same time...

Real shame about Hatton. Used to genuinely look forward to seeing him, and naively got my hopes up this time around. I hope he can get his life on track etc.
